Imagine this…
You love your body the way it is. However, there are some things about your body that seems unappealing or unattractive to you. That’s when you make the decision to workout and change it.
Work out along with an ok diet (a few slip ups) with 80% consistency. So far, so good…
Suddenly you start to see a change in how much energy you have in working out, but not in clothes that much. However, you see different body parts have formed little muscles. You’re constantly looking into the mirror and different workout pages on Instagram, constantly doing research on healthy living, and yet… you still don’t see the results you would like. So you get a tiny bit discouraged.
Is this you?
Well, I’ll admit… that was me… that is me still sometimes.
Now, don’t get it twisted, I am not an insecure young adult; but at the same time I’m not overly confident either. I am rather gorgeous, I love my skin, and I can dress pretty when I wanna be… lol 😉 (Not cocky, but confident!)
Hard lessons that I had to learn:
1. I’m far from where I was. I used to be very inconsistent working out in college! Actually, I had workout phases. Even though I’m not completely consistent and not always motivated, I’m different from where I was! And I go 80-100% HARD (or the best I can) when I do workout. That is saying something!
2. THE SCALE WILL NEVER BY MY FRIEND. It can be very mean, yet useful at times. We’re actually frenemies. I’ve learned to never take what I see on the scale to heart. This is a life-long journey ya know.
3. GO HARD! If I don’t like my progress so far, or if I’m getting too relaxed, then it’s about time I take it up a notch. Looking at my progress motivates me to keep going!
4. Pray! Without God with me, I would NOT be able to do this by myself! True fact.
5. Stay motivated. Continue to look at those workout pages on Instagram without looking like a stalker. Hehe 😀
6. Put my research into good use.
I was in my feelings this evening, so I though I’d blog about it. I think at least one person out there feels how I feel sometimes.
Don’t get discouraged. Keep going. You’re doing a great job, I’m sure 😉
Well, take care!
