It’s Friday! Another day, another Friday, and another week done.
Labor Day was Monday so I thought I’d skip Music Monday this week… okay let me not say that lie *lol* I actually forgot! I remembered on Tuesday that I didn’t update the page. I know, I know… I’m losing it *lol* I honestly feel like I’m going through a mid-20s crisis!

Since it’s no longer Monday, I wanted to dedicate this week’s blog post on music.
Have you ever had a moment where you’re listening to a song and it puts you on a plane to travel to a different place? I believe that the right song will have you in a different place, a different world even. An album will allow you to see the Picasso painting that the artist has created for you with vibrant, dark, and sometimes bold colors. Music makes me want to lay on my bed with my eyes closed to keep the imagery in my mind valid for a long time. Music can help you forget your problems for a moment. It can be motivating, soulful, freeing…
From Earth, Wind, and Fire to Kimbra,
From Tupac to 2 Chains,
From Mississippi Mass Choir to JJ Hairston and Youthful Praise,
From Walter Hawkins to Kirk Franklin, and everyone in between.
I don’t have a preference. I’ll listen to R&B/Soul, Gospel, Pop, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Rap, Hip-Hop (because you gotta make that distinct difference), and a lil bit of trap music.
I’ll listen to anything… as long as the lyrics make sense. Although I’ll listen sometimes to a song with the dumbest lyrics ever (because it sounds catchy), a lot of these artist are making songs that make no sense at all. Oh, and I love songs that can tell a story.
I eventually want to dedicate a blog to some of my favorite musical selections. In the mean time I want to dedicate this post to A Capella Music.
You guys… I. Am. A. SUCKER. for some good A Capella music. Hearing the different harmonies, melodies, and sounds that are equivalent to a band… ugh! I love it! They give me goosebumps and makes me make faces like this
